Peter and Anso Thormahlen have generously donated another hunt to SCI Calgary for our 2020 fundraiser. Peter was awarded the Professional Hunter of the Year at the 2018 Safari Club International convention in Las Vegas, and it is an honour for SCI Calgary to receive this donation.
They have donated a fantastic seven-day plains game rifle hunting safari for one hunter and one observer, with your choice of either Namibia or South Africa; both are some of Africa’s most geographically and culturally diverse countries. The hunter receives a credit of $1,500 US on the total cost of trophies hunted, giving the flexibility of choosing the trophies, and with a credit to start!
In South Africa, they hunt the Government Game Reserves which are completely free-range, for that adventurous hunter who is looking for a unique experience! The areas are huge, not overhunted and very beautiful. T& C provides exclusive hunting lodges with spacious bedrooms and fully equipped bathrooms, excellent cuisine, and hearty breakfasts. Besides the outstanding concessions, Kruger National Park and the scenic Panorama Route are close by for you to add a few touring days. This is a perfect destination if you are looking for something different in South Africa.
In Namibia, T& C provides high-quality tented safari camps with bathrooms throughout Namibia and excellent cuisine. Encourage your family or non-hunting friends to accompany you to their variety of concessions for plains game and dangerous game. Touring and sightseeing to the most popular destinations like Swakopmund and Etosha National Park can be added to the trip.
Included in either location are seven full days of hunting with lodging, meals/wine, along with pickup from either the airport at Windhoek in Namibia or Nelspruit in South Africa, depending on your choice of location. They also include 4x4 Land Cruiser hunting vehicles, highly trained trackers, skinners and professional hunters. Also included are the arrival and departure days. If you want to extend the trip or bring along other hunters, the cost is $450 US/person per day, and observers are $250 US/ person per day in either location. The donation excludes 15% VAT on day rate, rifle permits, gratuities, taxidermy, dip and pack, shipping charges, and air travel to and from Africa. The hunt is available in either 2020 or 2021.

This donation is given in good faith to SCI Calgary Chapter to help support their worthy cause. Calgary Chapter Safari Club International (CCSCI) has exercised reasonable care in the selection of auction items and prizes; however, it accepts no liability for the use or misuse and makes no warranty as to their suitability, safety, or function, either expressed or implied.
All sales are final, and NO exchanges or refunds on any item! Every effort has been made to ensure the quality of items; however, we cannot guarantee the satisfaction of the donor or the buyer.
In reference to hunting donations, some specific dates are set by the donors; it is the purchaser's responsibility to contact the donor within 30 days and make all the necessary arrangements regarding dates and application for any required paperwork for licenses and permits. It is at the discretion of the outfitter whether or not to honour the purchase if no contact has been made within the 30-day limit.
Additionally, the outfitter is under no obligation to facilitate a hunt outside of the timeframe indicated in the hunt description. Please do not purchase the hunt if you can not utilize the hunt within the time frame indicated in the hunt description!
Live Auction
The auctioneer will facilitate bidding on live auction items, through both bids on the floor, and bids via this online hunting auction website. In case of a disputed bid, the bid may be re-opened at the discretion of the auctioneer whose decision is final.
CCSCI reserves the right of refusal on any item that does not meet sufficient % of the market value.
All travel arrangements are the responsibility of the purchaser unless stated otherwise. CCSCI is not, and will not act as a conduit or go-between between the purchaser and donor.
The donor or outfitter is notified of the winning bidder by CCSCI. All online winning bidders will have the credit card processed immediately following the sale of the item and will receive an invoice regarding their purchase within 15 days of the close of the auction by email from the Online Hunting Auction Website. It is the purchaser's responsibility to contact the donor within 30 days and make all the necessary arrangements. CCSCI does not normally contact the winning bidder.
Merchandise will be shipped to the winning bidder at the winning bidder's expense.
All Canadian content items including firearms and Canadian hunts are subject to 5% GST.

Although CCSCI encourages donors to list all extra and ancillary expenses not included in the donated hunt, such as travel, service and other items, the list of expenses in auction item descriptions should not be considered exhaustive or definitive, and CCSCI will not be held responsible for their completeness or accuracy. The amounts of additional expenses listed in auction item descriptions are approximations and are subject to change without notice. Bidders should contact relevant donors before bidding for additional and updated information about expenses one can expect to incur in taking a hunt or trip or in using a service or item.
2. CCSCI offers hunts, art, jewelry, firearms and other tangible items for bid during live and silent auctions or by raffle. All items are transferred as is. Shipping insurance is at the cost of the purchaser. All valuations are provided by donors, and all descriptions are based on information provided by third parties. CCSCI shall in no event be held responsible for their accuracy.
CCSCI does not make implied or expressed warranties or representation of any kind, nor does CCSCI deem to have made any representation or warranty of the description, genuineness, attribution, provenance or condition of any item. No statement in the CCSCI publications, catalogues or brochures or in the bill of sale or invoice or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty, representation or assumption of liability by CCSCI. Any written warranties concerning the items purchased are those solely and expressly supplied by the manufacturer or donor of that item or hunt. Although third parties sometimes provide appraisals with items such as jewelry, CCSCI does not verify or warrant their accuracy or origin. Appraisals are the result of subjective valuations, and estimates of value and quality can vary markedly between competent and reliable appraisers. The provision of an appraisal does not represent a guarantee of value. Furthermore, any written or visual presentation done or offered by third parties does not necessarily reflect the opinion or attitude of CCSCI.
3. After bidding for an item concludes and the auctioneer designates a winning bidder, the designated winner (buyer) must immediately agree to a Buyer's Agreement. For buyers at the auction location, the buyer must sign the Buyer's Agreement and one copy will be given to the buyer. For online buyers, when the buyer clicks "I accept" after reading the Buyer's Agreement, or pays for the item, the buyer is deemed to agree to the Buyer's Agreement. For silent auctions, the Silent Auction Bid Sheet is considered the Buyer's Agreement to purchase the indicated item. All signatures on Buyer's Agreements, and "I accept" or payment for online purchases, are legal, binding and final. CCSCI will not recognize changes, additions or deletions to any auction description agreed to by the buyer and donor unless such changes are noted on the Buyer's Agreement and signed by the buyer and an authorized representative of the donor, or in the case of online buyers, noted in an electronic writing exchanged between the buyer and an authorized representative of the donor.
NON-WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Goods - All goods covered by this invoice have been acquired or obtained by the Calgary Chapter of SCI (CCSCI) from third parties. The purchaser acknowledges that the goods have not been inspected by CCSCI and that the purchaser is advised, in the case of firearms, knives, bows, bullets or other items to secure a competent inspection and test of the goods before use. THE GOODS ARE SOLD AS IS WITH ALL FAULTS AND DEFECTS AND WITHOUT ANY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY ON THE PART OF THE CCSCI INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF FITNESS AND MERCHANTABILITY. CCSCI ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR THE PRODUCTS' DESIGN OR USE. Any written warranties concerning the goods delivered to the purchaser are solely of the manufacturer of same.
Services - All services covered by this invoice have been acquired and obtained from and are to be furnished by third parties. No services are to or will be performed by CCSCI. CCSCI SHALL BEAR NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DELIVERY OF QUALITY OF ANY SUCH SERVICES OR FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM, RELATED TO OR CONNECTED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OR NON-PERFORMANCE OF SUCH SERVICES. THE PURCHASER FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT CCSCI CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY POLITICAL UNREST OR INSTABILITY, MEDICAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS. CCSCI CAN NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANY INJURIES OR DAMAGES THAT MAY ARISE. PURCHASER FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THE PURCHASE IS NON-REFUNDABLE UNDER ANY AND ALL CIRCUMSTANCES AND THAT SHOULD LEGAL ACTION BE REQUIRED TO COLLECT FOR THE GOODS OR SERVICES PURCHASED BY THIS INVOICE, THEN THE PURCHASING PARTY SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL COSTS.
This invoice and the terms and conditions here apply to and are binding on the heirs, legal representatives, successors, and assignees of both parties. This invoice contained the entire agreement between the parties and cannot be changed except by a routing instrument subsequently executed by the parties thereto.
