New Mexico is famous for its trophy-class Rocky Mountain elk. The lucky hunter will have the
opportunity to harvest a trophy class bull in the game management unit of his or her choice using
any legal weapon, regardless of the season. New Mexico has continued to manage elk herds for
quality and trophy bulls. With about 90,000 elk in the state, several game management units consistently
produce some of the largest bulls in the country with some approaching or exceeding 400
inches every year. Proceeds from the permit sale will benefit elk in New Mexico.
Offered by the Mule Deer Foundation. MDF is a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization.
