Jim Gibson of “New Zealand Safaris” is donating a 4-day/3-night trophy Himalayan tahr hunt for 1 hunter and 1 observer on the South Island of New Zealand. This hunt includes the trophy fee for one Himalayan tahr.

Tahr hunting with New Zealand Safaris is conducted on wild, free range, private wilderness area land, where hunting does not require using helicopters. Tahr hunting is like many sheep hunts around the world in that there is a lot of glassing from distance to first locate and judge a mature bull. Judging bull tahr is very exciting as they can appear from simply nowhere rolling their bodies like that of a grizzly bear showing his size and dominance to any challengers.

On New Zealand Safaris hunts you can expect to see between 30-150 tahr a day with 5-15 trophy bulls. Averaging at 270 lbs., these are truly magnificent animals and an amazing hunt in some of the most spectacular scenery you will ever see. If you truly value sheep hunting, the mountains and scenery that go hand in hand with this big game hunt, then you will love hunting with New Zealand Safaris.

Note: The successful bidder must bring one full paying hunter.

Included: are trophy fees for 1 tahr, guide services, lodge accommodations, meals, beverages, ground-transportation during the hunt, caping/skinning services, firearms use, and transportation to/from lodge and Timaru (South Canterbury New Zealand).
