PHROBIS MODULAR FIELD KNIFE FOR CHARLES T BUCK OF BUCK KNIVES. Per letter & "M9 Bayonet, an Authorized history", This knife was made in 1987 at 2310 Faraday Ave, Carlsbad & presented to Charles T Buck, then President of Buck Knives. This knife was made specifically for the Navy Spec War & lead to the concept of the Combat Utility Knife & Modular Field knife. 5 3/8" Blade made of 440 C Stainless steel. The crossguard, handle & threaded pommel were made of Delrin by Rick MacDonald. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a certificate of authenticity signed by Robert MacDonald. #99/188 Signed copy of "M9 the Authorized History" by Richard Neyman made to the consignor, Glenn Mattox. CONDITION: knife is in near excellent condition w/ minute scratches on blade. PROVENANCE: from The Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18464/MD). $1,500-2,000.
