ONE COAST GUARD OFFICER’S BELT. 1)REVENUE CUTTER SERVICE. A black leather sword belt with a false 2-piece Revenue Cutter gilded brass buckle. Belt is complete with associated sword straps. This belt likely dates from the Spanish American War era, as the Revenue Cutter Service was disbanded in 1915 and merged into the modern Coast Guard. CONDITION: light wear overall. 2)COAST GUARD. A black leather sword belt with a false 2-pice Coast Guard gilded brass buckle. Belt is complete with associated sword straps. This belt likely dates from WWII or after. The Coast Guard was founded in 1915 with the merger of the Revenue Cutter Service and the US Life-Saving Service. In 1939, the US Lighthouse Establishment was also merged into the Coast Guard.
