Original Flintlock Kentucky Rifle from Western Pennsylvania, Circa 1830-1835. Features a .36-.38 caliber octagonal barrel and 53 1/2" overall. Striped maple stock showing incised carving in buttstock with raised carving at wrist. "J. Harding" engraved under pan and marked "S 519" (Stembridge S 519), left side of barrel forward breech. Last sold to Joe Musso Lot #99 of "The Famous Stembridge Armory Collection", Little John's Auction Service, June 5, 2007. This exact rifle was used by Sterling Hayden in the movie produced by Republic Pictures, "The Last Command", based on the Alamo. The rifle's lock was changed during it's working life and fits well.
