Antique Double Barrel Shotgun, by Philip Webley, #21149, 12 ga., 30'' Damascus twist barrels are choked CYL/CYL and marked ''P. Webley & Son, St. James's London'' on top rib; case hardened hammers, opening lever, and steel receiver are finely engraved in the English ''banknote'' style and marked ''P. Webley & Son'' with two flying geese on both sides of receiver; checkered varnished walnut forend and pistol-grip buttstock with a vacant German silver escutcheon at bottom, engraved buttcap and plain buttplate. Condition is very good, the barrels retaining approx. 75% original Damascus colors with a dent on the bottom of left barrel halfway down; the case hardened parts showing 15% mottled colors and otherwise a gunmetal gray patina with scattered light discoloration. Stocks are sound and smooth but for scattered use marks (mainly to forend, which is also missing its front latch) and showing much original varnish. Action functions; bores are dirty 1/3 down and shiny thereafter. Est.: $250-$450. (Antique)
