1) Cal. 31. S# 313118. Bbl 4". Model 1849 manufactured by Colt in 1869. Top of barrel bears Colt's single line address with "COLT'S/ PATENT" on the left side of the frame and "31 CAL" on the left side of the trigger guard. Cylinder retains a partially discernible stagecoach scene. Brass trigger guard and backstrap with a 1 piece smooth wood grip. Matching numbers are present on the frame, cylinder, wedge, barrel, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a mottled gray patina, with scattered pitting overall. Brass components have been cleaned and exhibit some areas of light discoloration. Bore exhibits pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grip shows scattered marks from handling and storage but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (01-23930). 2) Cal. 36. S# 15919. Bbl 4 1/2". Model 1862 Police manufactured by Colt in 1863. Barrel bears Colt's single line address across the top, with "COLT'S/ PATENT" on the left side of the frame and "36 CAL" on the left side of the trigger guard. Iron components have been nicely reblued. Brass trigger guard and backstrap with 1 piece smooth wood grip. Matching numbers are present on the frame, wedge, barrel, trigger guard and backstrap. CONDITION: iron components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some scattered marks from handling and storage. Brass components retain traces of their silver finish. Pitted bore with strong rifling throughout. Grip shows some scattered marks from handling and storage but is otherwise good. (01-23940/MLW). BOTH ANTIQUE. $600-1,000.
