1) COLT MODEL 1860 ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 53861. Bbl. 6". Revolver has mixed S#s, but bbl., frame, & trigger guard have matching “53861”. Backstrap is “49329”. Cyl. S# not discernible, but last 3 digits are “003”. Bbl. has been shortened to 6" w/ a well patinated inset dovetailed brass sight w/ iron post. Initials are cut on bottom of backstrap which could be “AB”. CONDITION: good overall, gun appears to be original to this configuration w/ later added loading lever, loading lever catch, wedge & wedge screw. Mixed patinas. Grips are well fit w/ visible cartouches, tacking marks on butt. Mechanically functional w/ pitted, rifled bore.
2) SCARCE EARLY COLT MODEL 1862 POCKET POLICE. Cal. 36. S# 61. Bbl. 6 1/2" standard configuration w/ longest available bbl. Scarce 2 digit S# made in 1861 w/ 2 line patent in one flute & S# in another. Matching S#s found throughout. CONDITION: fair overall, missing loading assembly, catch & pitch. Wedge, hammer screw, & grips are replacements. Bbl. retains about half of refinished blue, balance of iron is brown patina. Grip frame retains about half of replated silver. This gun must have been loved as it was refinished sometime after the Civil War for continued use & that finish mostly worn away today. Mechanics need attention as cyl. does not index. Good, rifled bore w/ pitting.
3) STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE GOVERNORS SOLDIERS PROCLAMATION. Framed pictorial 12x11" state of New Hampshire governors proclamation from 1867 w/ nicely calligraphyed ink inscription to Barnard signed in facsimile by Governor Frederick Smyth & New Hampshire adjutant General. Document is surrounded by patriotic vignettes engraved by the American Blank Note company. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: “The Civil War Diary of Wyman S. White”, a book edited by Russel C. White. CONDITION: not removed from frame but appears fair to good overall, all discernible, w/ staining & several cracks & tears w/ light fading. (01-19823/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-4,000.
