WILBRAHAM OF LONDON. Cal. 62. NSN. The pineapple finials on these pistols indicates early 1800's mfg. In "British Gunmakers Volume 1: London" by Nigel Brown; George Wilbraham was Viewer of Arms to the East India Co. (1807-1818) gunmaker & SC on 26 Goulston Square (1819-1830) & at 123 Leadenhell Street (1826-1836). Tapered rnd. 9" bbls. w/ starburst motif & engraved on top flat "LONDON". Bbl. breeches have traces of German silver band. Breech & lock have highlights of scroll engraving. Wedge fastened walnut stocks w/ checkered grips, pineapple finial trigger guards & hardwood ramrod w/ brass tips. CONDITION: pistols have a pleasing patina throughout w/ light pitting; engraving still mostly visible. Stocks are mostly intact showing large areas of varnish along w/ wear spots, worn checkering, sm. cracks & notable large gouges along side numerous light marks. Dark bores shows light oxidation.
