1) LONG BRANCH NO. 4 MK I*. Cal. .303 British. S# 39L6249. Bbl 25". Stamped "No 4 Mk I */ LONG BRANCH/ 1943" on the left side of the receiver. Major metal components are blued, with the buttplate and magazine exhibiting a black enamel finish. Stock and handguard are comprised of solid wood. Matching numbers are on the receiver, bolt, and magazine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting mild wear overall, with areas of oxidation present on the front barrel band and nose cap. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows a few scattered handling marks, but is otherwise very good. 2) SHTLE NO. III* WITH RAF MARKED BAYONET. Cal. 303 British. S# S105. Bbl 25". SHTLE No. III* manufactured in 1918 at the Enfield arsenal. Right side of receiver bears stampings stipulating the manufacturer, year of manufacture, and model designation. Underside of buttstock bear a 6 pointed star over "E" proof. Metal components are blued, with the furniture being comprised of solid wood. Bayonet is stamped with a crown over "GR/ 1907/ WILKINSON" on the ricasso, with "RAF" stamped on the pommel and right wood grip. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning overall, with some scattered areas of pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting what appears to be either mild pitting or some old grease within the grooves, and retaining strong rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered marks from handling and storage, with a couple losses on the right side around the trigger guard. Bayonet retains good amounts of its arsenal blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to gray patina, with some scattered spots of pitting. Scabbard shows wear, but remains sturdy and serviceable. (23-2413 & 23-2423/MLW) BOTH CURIO. $600-800.
