PAIR OF THOMPSON SMG MOVIE PROPS.
2 Loose examples of the iconic Thompson SM, representing the 1921 & the M1. High quality reproductions mfg. by Replica Models Inc. of Alexandria, VA are even accompanied by the 1971 letter on Department of the Treasury letter head declaring them nonguns & therefore legal to import from Modelgun Corp. in Tokyo, Japan. Weighing in at approx. 9 lbs. w/ an overall length of over 33", that even when handled, give a feeling of authenticity. Both have finned bbls. & wood furniture w/ removable stocks by pushing a button. The 1 more closely resembling the 1921 has a vertical fore grip & a Cutts style compensator front sight, while the 1 mostly resembling the M1 has a horizontal forend w/ out the compensator. Both have markings replicating the full autos, including a functioning safety & selector. MAGS: 2, each gun has a designated 20 rd. stick mag. that may or may not be functional. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 2 determination letters dated March 26, 1971 from Department of Treasury. 1 Original shipping box. CONDITION: while the outward appearance reflects positively on these prop guns, any serious Thompson aficionado will find plenty of faults. These are certainly not reflective of early Colt Thompsons by any means. The bolts lock open simulating an open bolt firing mechanism. Mags. are removable. Everything appears to function correctly, though these are definitely unable to be used w/ any type of ammunition. Wood is decent & appears period correct w/ out any obvious structural flaw. (02-13778/JZ). NONGUN. $400-800.
