WITH DETACHABLE MAGAZINE, STOCK & SPARE 20 SHOT MAGAZINES. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 868566. Special order / experimental Mauser 1930 Commercial that was made at the same time as the earliest M712 Schnellfeuer pistols. This example, one of only 2 known, the other a consecutive gun, was made as a true semiautomatic w/ detachable mag. & slotted for a stock (very different from the scarce but later & more frequently encountered Model 711). This high polish salt blued pistol has a 5.25" bbl. w/ fixed front sight & slip-in rear sight graduated 50-1000. Short extractor, 2 lug firing pin & a universal safety. Top of chamber w/ usual Mauser address. Crown/"C"/"U" on left chamber flat. Full S# on left side of bbl. extension. "Made in Germany" marked on the middle panel, left side, the lg. Mauser banner logo in the rear panel. Right side of frame w/ 3-line Mauser address. As an early 1930, some of the sm. parts were fire blued (extractor, bolt stop, trigger) while others were salt blued (rear sight components & the safety). Fitted w/ walnut grips secured w/ a lg. headed screw, also a transitional feature, briefly used during this production period. Reproduction lanyard ring. Disassembly shows matching frame (8566) & subframe, the locking block is accepted but unnumbered, which is correct for this variation. MAGS: accompanied by 3 Model 712 (Schnellfeuer) mags. (one 10 shot; two 20 shot) whose floorplates are marked w/ lg. Mauser banner. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original Schnellfeuer shoulder stock marked w/ Mauser banner, inletted for selector switch, grooved on either side for mag. floorplate & fitted w/an unmarked lug w/ rounded shoulders (correct for this pistol). CONDITION: approx 97% bright original salt blue w/the usual transition line behind chamber & haloing around the Crown/"C"/"U" proof. "Made in Germany" in the white. Usual high point wear consistent w/ a pistol that has seen light sporting use. Generally bright bore w/ light oxidative etching, strong rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Comparable condition mags. VG+ shoulder stock, the body having a scattering of superficial handling marks, the lug having been re-heat treated & the hinge w/ moderate oxidative toning. Overall, a phenomenal rig, one of two known, reflecting a true semiautomatic rendition of the World-Famous Model 712 Schnellfeuer pistol! (22-3151/LMA). $25,000-35,000.
