POLEARM HEAD, WALKING STICK & 2 CAST DAGGERS.
1) CHINESE CEREMONIAL POLEARM HEAD. Overall length: 27". Blade length: 15 1/4". Width at widest point 9 1/4". Central blade has engraved foliate decoration on both sides. Central blade is flanked by 2 crescent shaped blades, each supported by two 2 1/4" faceted bars. Beneath a lg. iron ferrule is a brass 2 sided ornament depicting a mythical Chinese figure over sunbursts. Tapered, hammered tang. CONDITION: iron generally has a dark somewhat mottled patina. Brass has a deep mellow patina. Polearm head shows wear but no damage. (02-13372/BF). 2) AFRICAN EFFIGY WALKING STICK. Overall length: 37 1/4". Figure length: 7 5/8". A very hard wood that may be ebony. Plain slightly tapered shaft is topped w/ a kneeling, bare breasted, female figure that appears to be pregnant. Hair is textured & appears braided. CONDITION: moderate wear but no damage. (02-13390/BF). 3) IRON DAGGER. Overall length: 10 1/4". Blade length: 5 1/4". An excavated example of a cast iron dagger w/ a down turned guard showing a central medallion. Grip terminates in a wolf's head pommel. CONDITION: dagger shows heavy oxidation throughout w/ some dirt remaining. (02-13399/BF). 4) BRONZE DAGGER. Overall length: 10 1/4". Blade length: 6". An excavated example of a cast bronze dagger w/ a lg. elliptical blade showing a pronounced medial ridge. Simple guard w/ nubbed grip. Animal head pommel. CONDITION: dagger shows heavy oxidation, patina & verdigris. There is a triangular loss at 1 edge of the blade. Area of loss has been cleaned on 1 side, likely to determine metal used in mfg. (02-13400/BF). $500-1,000.
