SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga 2-3/4’’. S# 12239. Bbls. 29-3/4’’ chopper lump w/ concave solid rib. Right bore is rifled. Left bore is smooth. Case colored sidelock action w/ double under lug & third bite locking having bushed firing pins. Action, forearm iron & breech end of bbls have full coverage fine English style rose & scroll hand engraving. Selective ejectors. Double triggers, front trigger is hinged. Breech end of bbl., top lever & forearm tip are marked w/ gold no. 1 indicating the gun was part of a 2 gun set. Splinter forearm w/ Anson release. Straight hand stock of exhibition quality black walnut w/ hand checkering & tear drop points. LOP: 14-1/2’’ over a solid red pad. DAC: 1-3/8’’. DAH: 2-1/4’’. Stock has a slight cast off. Bore diameter: RT .728, LT .727. Choke constriction: RT cyl. bore, LT .035. Minimum wall thickness: RT .724, LT .026. WEIGHT: 7 lbs, 6 ozs. CONDITION: action has 97% restored case colored finish. Bbls. retain over 98% reblacked finish showing some remaining pitting. Right bore has weak rifling & general light pitting. Left smoothbore bbl. is very good & bright. Trigger guard & fittings have reblued finish. Wood has very good refinish showing small marks. Checkering is freshened. Action is tight w/ top lever sitting at center. (23-706/DS).
