PRE-WAR WINCHESTER MODEL 52 BOLT ACTION TARGET
RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 23831. Bbl. 28". Model 52 bolt action target rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1932. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which exhibits a bright polished in-the-white finish. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip buttstock with checkered blued steel buttplate. Toeline of stock and underside of bbl. band feature sling swivels. Unmarked globe front sight with Lyman No. 82A windage adj. ladder rear sight. Bolt matches the receiver via the full S#, which is electro-penciled on the underside of the bolt body. MAGS: x1 blued steel 5-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light wear and thinning, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Bbl. band and trigger guard have mostly faded to a mottled gray/brown patina. Forward sling swivel exhibits matching wear to the bbl. band, with the rear swivel exhibiting consistent mild oxidation. Bolt retains a bright appearance. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows scattered marks, dings, and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col.
