Identical Pair of Antique English Single-Shot Screw-Barrel Flintlock Belt Pistols, by Edgson, #1, approx. .52 cal., 4'' octagonal barrels, one pistol is marked ''1'' at breech (other pistol unnumbered); both boxlock frames have left-side belt hooks, proof marks beneath, reinforced cocks, oval waterproof pans, sliding rear safeties, folding triggers that drop open when cocked, and are floral engraved with ''Edgson/Stamford'' within an oval on right sides against a panoply of martial flags and arms; plain varnished flat-sided walnut bag-style grips have vacant German silver inlays at wrists. Mfg'd ca. 1830s-50s. Condition is near excellent. Barrels retain approx. 96% deep original blue, triggers show bright fire-blue, case hardened frames are smooth gunmetal with clear engraving and markings.
