Post-War Savage Model 99EG Lever Action Rifle, #640821, .300 Savage cal., 24" barrel, blue finish. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock and Schnabel forend, hard rubber grip cap, sling swivels, period leather rifle sling, with ventilated rubber recoil pad, providing a 14" LOP. Rifle also features a dovetailed brass tipped blade front sight, rear sight removed and filled with a Stith dovetailed sight blank, internal rotary magazine with cartridge counter, color case hardened lever, loaded chamber indicator, tang with two drilled and tapped holes for a sight. Factory markings are clear, with Savage "SP" proof on left side of the barrel at the breech. Topped with Redfield one-piece base, rings, and El Paso Weaver K4 fixed 4x rifle scope with gloss black finish and fine crosshair reticle. Exterior of the scope shows moderate age and wear; optics are clear. Mfg'd 1952. Rifle is in near excellent overall condition, retaining approx. 95%-96% factory blue, with light wear at the muzzle and minor marks along the barrel; showing some thinning and edge wear to the receiver. Lever displays an attractive color case hardened finish, with brighter colors in the protected areas. Stock with scattered minor indentations and scratches consistent with field use. Action functions smoothly. Bore is bright with near excellent, defined rifling. Est.: $700-$900. (C&R)
