Post-War Savage Model 99EG Lever Action Rifle, #507120, .300 Savage cal., 24" barrel, blue finish. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock and Schnabel forend, hard rubber grip cap, sling swivels, ending with a ribbed blue steel buttplate; providing a 13.25" LOP. Other features include a dovetailed brass tipped blade front sight, rear sight has been removed and filled with a dovetailed sight blank, and internal rotary magazine with brass cartridge counter. Mfg'd 1948. Topped with Redfield one-piece base, rings, and Weaver fixed 4x rifle scope with blued finish and fine crosshair reticle. Exterior of the scope displays signs of age and wear, with scratches, wear on both bells, and large dent on top; optics are clear. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 90% factory blue, with wear at the muzzle, and scattered marks along the barrel. Wear to the sides and bottom of the receiver accounts for most of the finish loss, showing mild frosting, and an area of small impressions to the left side. Case colors on the sides of the lever and in the protected areas are bright. Stock with scattered indentations and sharp checkering detail. Action functions smoothly. Bright bore is good with well-defined rifling. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R)
