Post-War Savage Model 99R Lever Action Rifle, #685003, .300 Savage cal., 24" barrel, blue finish. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock and forend, with sling swivel studs, checkered hard rubber grip cap, ending with a ribbed blue steel buttplate; providing a 13.6" LOP. Rifle also has a ramped brass tipped blade front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, rotary magazine with cartridge counter, and color case hardened lever. Mfg'd 1953. Rifle is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 95%-96% factory blue, with light wear at the muzzle, and minor marks along the barrel. Receiver shows high point edge wear and scattered freckles of oxidation, worse on the left side. Lever assembly displays partially muted color case hardened finish, with brighter colors in the protected areas and sides of the lever. Stock with scattered small scratches and indentations, showing a little thinning to the comb and bottom right side of the buttstock; checkering detail is mostly sharp. Action functions smoothly. Bore is good with clear rifling. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R)
