The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel. grip/stock configuration & condition: the furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, straight wrist grip,17-rib forend, and a checkered synthetic winchester buttplate. The buttplate has light wear. The furniture shows light pressure dings and surface scratches. The lop measures 13. 25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in very good plus condition. type of finish: bluedfinish originality: originalbore condition: the bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10/10. overall condition: this rifle retains about 95% of it's original finish. The finish shows light edge wear, faint freckling, and scattered surface scratches. The screw heads range from lightly tooled to unmarred and retain turnable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in very good plus condition. mechanics: the action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. Overall, this rifle rates in very good plus condition and stands as a sharp 1948 winchester model 62a in multi-cartridge configuration.
