The rear sight is a u-notch dovetailed into the barrel. The elevation adjustment piece is missing from the rear sight. A weaver scope is mounted on a folding pachmayr base to the side of the receiver. The glass is clear and the scope rates in very good condition. A vintage rubber scope cover is included. grip/stock configuration & condition: the refinished furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a checkered metal buttplate. The buttplate has light finish wear and some old oxidation spots. The furniture shows infrequent pressure dings, scratches, and old blemishes. The lop measures 13. 25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in very good condition. type of finish: bluedfinish originality: originalbore condition: the bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10/10. overall condition: this rifle retains about 85% of its original metal finish. The finish has scrub marks on the barrel part way through the finish, light scratches, and a spot of pitting on the barrel. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots.
