A pre-Confederation Canadian Milita-marked Pattern 1845 Infantry Officer's Sword. Brass Gothic hilt with "VRI" (Victoria Regina Imperiatrix - Victoria Queen and Empress) cypher. Slightly curved Wilkinson "cut and thrust" blade with Canada Militia and a beaver etched on the left side of the blade and a Queen's crown and VRI cypher on the right side of the blade. "Warranted to cut wrought iron" engraved on the back of the blade. Brass sheath with some dents. Includes a worn infantry officer's sword knot.

This sword balances beautifully.
