Pre-War Savage Model 29 Pump Action Rifle, #134994, .22 S-L-LR cal., 24'' octagon barrel, blue finish, pistol-grip walnut stock with checkering at the wrist and forend, with a black composition ''SVG'' buttplate, and dovetailed brass bead Marble's No. 5 front sight, Marble's rear sight, and Lyman #56 peep sight mounted to right side of receiver. Condition is good. Receiver with a mostly dark brown and slightly plum colored patina; barrel and magazine tube are a combination brown patina and darkened blue finish with thinning to the highpoints. Barrel address is clear and well defined. Wood shows age and wear consistent with the rest of the rifle including general shallow scratches and small chip at the toe, as well as an older coat of added finish. All sights are later replacements/additions and retain most of their original blue. Action is smooth and crisp with a very good bore. Est.: $150-$300. (C&R)(Joe Poyer collection)
