The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel. grip/stock configuration & condition: the furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, straight wrist grip, 17-rib forend, and a checkered synthetic winchester buttplate. The buttplate has light wear. The furniture shows light pressure dings, a few drag lines, and some minor scratches. The lop measures 13. 25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in very good plus condition. type of finish: bluedfinish originality: originalbore condition: the bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is very faint erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10. overall condition: this rifle retains about 96% of it's original finish. The finish shows light edge wear, faint freckling, and occasional surface scratches. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots.
