Professionally Restored Colt Model 1873 U.S. Artillery Single Action Revolver, #112207, 5.5" barrel, .45 LC cal., blue and case hardened finish, one-piece walnut grip, full blade front sight, "V"-notched rear sight. Originally made in 1885 and the barrel was shortened in 1901-03. Receiver has three-line patent dates and "U.S." on the left; "D.F.C./112207" underneath. Loading gate is marked "720". Barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on top, "45 COLT" on the left side, "P/K" underneath, and is not numbered. Cylinder is marked "7970" with "D.F.C" and a "P". Trigger guard and backstrap are both marked "157562". Revolver is in fine overall condition as professionally restored, retaining approx. 85%-90% reblued finish; cylinder shows toning and there are a few spots of mild cleaned pitting and light rust patina on the cylinder and left rear of the frame. Barrel with a few light scratches and spots of wear, particularly on the left side; front sight feathering is not correct. Over 90% vibrant case colors remain. Case colors are much darker compared to an original Colt of the period. Grip is marked with circled "SEB" on the right and 1902/(circled) RAC" on the left. Grip markings are questionable because RAC is always marked on the right side. Action works with four clicks but occasionally the hammer will not lock in the last position. Bore is very good. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (Antique)
