Professionally Restored Colt Model 1873 U.S. Cavalry Single Action Revolver, #34142, 7.5" barrel, .45 LC cal., blue and case hardened finish, one-piece walnut grip, full blade front sight, and "V"-notched rear sight. This is a very nice composite restored revolver. Bottom of the receiver width was reduced approximately 0.025" and remarked. It has the two line patent dates with "U.S." on the left, and "LD/34142" (Lewis Draper) on the bottom. Loading gate is marked "995". Barrel is marked "- COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. " on top and "4142", "J.T.C." (John T. Cleveland), "P" on the bottom. Bore is very good with crisp rifling. Ejector is the bullseye type. Cylinder is marked "4142" and "J.T.C." with a "P". The front sight feathering and front bevel on the cylinder are not correct. Trigger guard and the backstrap are marked "34142". Condition is fine overall, retaining approx. 85% case colors, showing general light wear. Re-blued finish is approx. 80%, with light wear on the backstrap, thinning and light marks across the barre. The contemporary grips is marked with circled "JTC" on the right and "1877/(circled)DAL" (Lt. David A. Lyle) on the left, with "J.T.C." on the bottom. Action locks up tight with four distinct clicks. Bore is very good with crisp rifling. A Colt factory letter is included, showing shipment to the U.S. Government on January 31, 1877. Est: $3,500-$4,500. (Antique)
