RARE & HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER HK-SL7 .308 SPORTING

RIFLE. Cal. 308. S# 15449. Bbl. 17". 1 Of the lesser known yet highly desirable roller locked H&K rifles chambered in the popular .308 Win. Mfg. in Oberndorf, Germany & imported through HK Chantilly, VA date codes indicate 1983 mfg. Bbl. marked w/ eagle followed by code ID & the traditional antler signifying the Ulm proof house. It utilizes the standard G3 roller locking mechanism & fluted chamber beneath the dark hardwood furniture. Unlike the G3, the cocking mechanism is located on the right side, parallel to the receiver instead of its traditional location on the military rifles. HK enthusiasts will recognize the hooded front sight post & 4 position diopter barrel type rear sight. The safety is located on the left side of the stock just forward of the trigger. Sling attachment is also universal between the G3 & the SL7 w/ the attachment points on left side of the stock, front & rear. More traditional sling studs are also located on the stock at 6 o’clock. Mag. release is located in the front section of the trigger guard. Factory finish on most exposed metal parts is a high gloss application aside from the receiver which retains a matte finish. Mounting of an optic utilizes a special base which coincides w/ 2 ports on top of the receiver forward of the rear sight. This example currently sports a Leupold VX-6, 1-6X24mm scope w/ a duplex crosshair reticle. Wooden stock & heat shield are a dark chocolate brown finish w/ a metal buttplate. MAGS: 1 factory detachable 3 rd. CONDITION: exposed metal surfaces still retain complete coverage having thinned only in areas of mechanical intervention w/ a few light marks typically associated w/ vertical rack storage. Top of receiver also demonstrates thinning w/ a few scratches, mostly beneath scope. Stock has a few sm. dents & impressions typical of the same. Action is smooth w/ a typical light trigger. Bore is shiny w/ strong rifling. Scope glass appears clear retaining a strong reticle. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (21-4083/JZ). MODERN. $2,000-2,750.
