Cal. 16 Ga., 2 9/16". S# 197845. Bbl. 30". The Parker Story indicates that approx. 16 "B" Grade guns were made in 16 Ga. with 30" bbls. Bbls. marked with Parkers address and “ACME STEEL” on standard matted concave rib. Bbl. flats stamped with all correct steel and grade markings. Lumps stamped with S#, Ga. and for “1” frame. Case hardened action is nicely filed with single bead around fences and features automatic safety and double triggers (all specifications match those found in serialization ledger except that ledger indicates this gun was made with a single trigger). All correct markings are on water table. Action engraved in usual "B" style with varying sized scroll surrounding scenes of double dogs on sides with setter and pointer on left and 2 setters on right at rear. “PARKER BROS.” is in rectangle on each side. Trigger plate has unusual scene of 2 quail, 1 flying and 1 standing in open meadow. Trigger guard with scroll on bow has S# on tang. Capped pistol grip stock of lightly marbled and figured European walnut measures 14 1/2" over black, leather covered pad. Side panels are checkered in deep set shields and have usual fleur-de-lis drop points. Checkering pattern is of usual B style with partial fleur-de-lis intrusion toward comb. Hard rubber grip cap has bottom inset with lg. vacant gold oval which has border scroll engraved. Matching splinter ejector forend is near fully checkered and has nicely filed steel tip as well as patent date on iron. MEASUREMENTS: bore dia.; left .670, right .668. Restrictions: left .028 (Full), right .019 (Mod). Min. Wall Thickness: left .022, right .020 (along bottom near rib about 9" back from muzzle). DAH 2 3/4". DAC 1 1/2"-. LOP 14 1/2". Cast 0. WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 13 oz. CONDITION: very fine as completely refinished, bbls. retaining approx. 95% of a lustrous reblue, engraving at breech end very lightly softened, action retains approx. 85% dark case hardening recolor, silvering on high edges and sides of fences, thinning on bottom, stock retains over 90% of old oil refinish, sharp edges somewhat rounded, wood slightly below metal, checkering recut, bores are very fine, bright, smooth and shiny, action is tight, ejectors are in time.
