KENTUCKY PISTOL. Cal. 45. NSN. 15.25” Overall. 10” Oct.l brass bbl., curly maple stock, brass furniture. The firm of Rogers, Sill & Slocomb ended w/ death of Sill in 1822. The firm did not manufacture guns but only retailed them. This was the beginning of the preeminent New Orleans hardware firm which became A. Bailey by the mid-19th century which operated well into the 20th century. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Lock has been refinished. Parts of maker’s Mark not discernible w/ pitting. Stock is sound w/ 2 crack repairs near nose cap. PROVENANCE: Collection of John Montague. (01-20724/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
