STEEL BARRELS. Cal. 12 Ga. 2 3/4". S# 125854. The 32" bbls. are marked w/ Parker Bros. info & "VULCAN STEEL" on concave matted rib (E & G grade Parker guns were normally furnished w/ Damascus or Parker steel bbls.). This gun is stamped "2X" on loop & these bbls. are most likely a later replacement set. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ weight & patent dates. Left side of lump is stamped w/ S#, bottom w/ frame size "3". Case hardened hammerless action has patent dates, grade number, S# & "E" stamped on watertable. Action features automatic safety & blued dbl. triggers; and is engraved in usual grade 2 style w/ sprays of scroll surrounding oval scenes of game birds on sides under "Parker Bros.". Trigger plate has circular vignette of 2 grouse(?). S# is on blued trigger guard. Parker capped pistol grip replacement buttstock of somewhat crotch figured American walnut measures 14 1/2" over Parker dog's head buttplate without spur. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching, most likely original, splinter forend has steel tip & patent dates stamped on Deeley type release. The Parker Gun Ledger lists this gun has having been made w/ 30" Damascus bbls. and does note that an additional set were supplied. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .729", L .729". Restriction: R .032" (FULL), L .038" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .029", L .031". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/4". DAC: 1 3/16". LOP: 14 1/2". CAST: approx. 1/4" on. WEIGHT: 8 lb. 10 oz. CONDITION: very good as refurbished. (Consignor states by Larry DelGrego). Bbls. & action retaining most of restored factory style finishes w/ some light silvering & a few scattered marks. Stocks retain nearly all of their original style finish. Bores show polishing over considerable scattered light pitting, most prevalent in right bbl. Action is tight. (22-140/MGM).
