REFURBISHED V21 DARNE SLIDING BREECH SHOTGUN.

Cal. 12 Ga. 2 1/2". S# 3P419 (1947). The 25 3/4" monobloc bbls. are fitted with deeply swamped "Plume" rib without underrib. Triangles of scroll engraving are at breech ends. Bbl. flats are stamped with maker's name, nitro proofs and 11 Grade stamps (V21). Bottoms of bbls. are stamped with triple proofs. Bbl. removes from coin finished sliding breech action with takedown push button in trigger plate. Late style action with obturating disks has safety slide on left side, opening lever is deeply stamped "Darne". Action is engraved with near full coverage varying size scroll with rose bouquets. Fences are deeply carved in acanthus motif. New, correctly styled stocks of lightly streaked European walnut have correct style checkering at grip and on separate forend. Stock measures 15 3/4" over ribbed hard rubber buttplate. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .732", L: .732". Restrictions: R: .021" (MOD), L: .030" (FULL) . Minimum Wall Thickness: R: .025", L: .026". STOCK: DAH: 3". DAC: 1 5/8". CAST: approx. 1/2" off. LOP: 15 3/4". WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 8 oz. CONDITION: fine as refurbished. Bbls. retaining nearly all of a best reblack, engraving softened. Action retains most of what appears to be its original coin finish with cleaning evident in areas of normal wear, especially trigger guard. Newly made stocks (most likely by factory) retain nearly all of their oil finish with a few scattered marks, checkering still light in color. Bores are bright & shiny. Mechanically good.
