REMARKABLE PAIR OF MIRROR IMAGE RIGHT AND LEFT

HANDED CUSTOM COLT SINGLE ACTION REVOLVERS. Cal. 44 CF. S#s 15776RH & 15776LH. Custom made commissioned pair by Thomas Haas, engraved & carved by Horatio Acevedo. Engraving is in the style of Cuno Helfricht. The checkered relief carved grips have portraits of “JOHN MORAN / PRESIDENT / MORAN ELECTRIC CO.”. John W. Moran (1896-1978) was electrical engineer from Indianapolis who founded electric company that operated for several decades & 15 years after his death. This pair of revolvers is featured on 2 full color pages of R. L. Wilson’s “The Colt Engraving Book, Vol.2” 706-707. The rarity of having mirror image revolvers caused the 2nd page in the book to have had the transparency printed on the wrong side. You don’t see many mistakes like this in full page color. This is a wonderful pair of revolvers in pristine condition, extremely highly embellished w/ full coverage engraving. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: custom Lucite stands. CONDITION: extremely fine, retaining virtually all original nickel plating. Certifiable ESA-exempt de-minimus elephant ivory grips have light age patina. Mechanically fine w/ crisp shiny bores. (01-19963/JS). ANTIQUE. 40,000-50,000.
