1) REMINGTON NO. 1 US INSPECTED ROLLING BLOCK. Cal. 50-70. NSN. Bbl. 36" w/ barleycorn front sight & military leaf rear sight. Top tang has Remington markings w/ last patent date Nov. 7, 87. 3 Band military length forearm w/ slotted tipped cleaning rod. Walnut stock w/ steel musket buttplate. Peak of buttplate is stamped w/ rack number "28", left side, comb & toeline of stock have partially visible US cartouches & markings. Action, bbl. & fittings have "B", "S", "P" or "R" inspectors stamps. CONDITION: cleaned metal has brown/gray appearance from cold blue touch up. Heavily sanded & refinished wood is undersized at action showing dents, scratches & handling marks. Bore retains strong rifling showing spots of light pitting. (01-19698/DS).
2) SPRINGFIELD 1879 TRAPDOOR. Cal. 45-70. S# 289857. Bbl. 32 5/8" w/ pinned blade front sight & 1873 rear sight. 1879 Dated high arch breech block. Standard Springfield marked lock. 2 Band walnut stock w/ iron fittings & slotted tip cleaning rod. Left side of stock has lg. hand carved initials "H W B". Peak of buttplate has stamped rack marking "4". Cleaned metal has brown/gray appearance from touch up finish. Rear sight is rivet attached. Sanded & refinished stock showing scratches & marks. Left side of forearm is missing a lg. chip between the bbl. bands. Dark heavily pitted bore w/ partially intact rifling. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19699/DS).
