Cal. 22 LR. S# 5957. Bbl. 26" matching numbered (under forend) octagon with "22" on bottom flat in front of forend plus Remington marks on top flat at rear. Also has on bottom flat: "2844" in large font near receiver plus "32 RF" under forend and in front of forend. Dovetailed sights of vintage Marbles rear, blank dovetail at front plus vintage tang mounted target sight. Mfg. 1873-1909; early examples had Remington info on tang and later production had Remington markings on frame like this one. Distinctive features of perch belly walnut stock set having cast contoured metal buttplate plus metal schnable tip on forend. Ends of small sized frame are curved rather than squared off like most Rolling Blocks plus stock set has slight panels at these junctures. Blued with case colored frame and buttplate. CONDITION: good plus general appearance with slight patina, occasional peppery oxidation and handling marks throughout to include light vise jaw marks at rear of barrel on sides. All original finish with faded grey case colors on receiver and very faded buttplate having light oxidation. Light screw slot marks on some screws. Numerous light stock marks and original finish plus light relief in front of comb for tang sight. Near excellent original bore. PROVENANCE: Estate of Frank Glenn Marsh. (22-6177/NW). CURIO. $450-650.
