SALVAGED FIRST MODEL BROWN BESS. Cal. 69. NSN. Bbl. 42". 58" Overall w/ full stock w/ 4-straight ramrod pipes, short brass blade front sight. First model Brown Bess lock is “Jordan / 1747” dated w/ “GR” under crown w/ broad arrow proof. Buttplate & sideplate are also 1st model Brown Bess. Continental unmarked 42" bbl. is of unknown origin. Typical full stock mounting like American long rifle to muzzle end. Only markings external other than lock are initials “JP” stamped rear of trigger guard of unknown origin. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Iron has mixed, mostly smooth, dark brown/gray patina. External lock components appear restored. Fine lock markings. Brass has light, mustard patina. Stock is well fit w/ hand worn patina, vacant oval 1.75" thumb plate. Mechanically functional w/ clear, dark bore. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19283/JS).
