In an email from Bill Ivey to Al Para, a previous owner, he states "AFTER EXAMINAING THE INFORMATION ON YOUR FUSIL, IT APPEARS IT IS SIMILAR TO OTHER KNOWN KENNEDY SIGNATURES. THEREFORE, IT IS VERY LIKELY THE SIGNATURE OF ALEXANDER KENNEDY THE ELDER (1738-1805). HE PROBABLY OWNED THE FUSIL OR POSSIBLY IS THE MAKER. IT CERTAINLY IS AN IMPORTANT FIND. THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT WITH ME". CONDITION: good to very good overall, original flint w/ brass bushed touch hole. Well-worn. Checkered wrist has hand worn patina & design very light from wear.
