Rare Browning 4-Gun Centennial Set which includes the Superposed Over/Under Rifle/Shotgun; High-Power Semi-Auto Pistol; Centennial B92 Lever Action Rifle; and Jonathan Browning Mountain Plains-Type Rifle, along with a matching set of stag-handled folding knives, all mfg'd in 1978 to commemorate Browning's 100th anniversary. 1.) Browning Superposed Centennial Over/Under Rifle, with extra pair of Shotgun Barrels fitted to the receiver. First pair of barrels are 24'' rifle barrels, #1878C-0102 #1, .30-06 cal., with open sights. 2nd pair of barrels are 20 ga. 26.5'' shotgun barrels, #1878C-102 #2, with vent rib and 3'' chambers, choked Mod./Full, with single selective trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. Entire action including tangs and forend iron are elaborately engraved with gold inlaid elk on left side, gold inlaid quail on right likeness of John Browning on the bottom, and the balance covered in rose and scroll patterns. Work is signed by Master Engraver F. Marechal. Wood is Exhibition grade walnut, oil finished, and extensively checkered at 24 LPI. Contained in a full-length walnut case, French fitted with red velvet to hold the assembled rifle and extra shotgun barrels. 2.) Browning High-Power Semi-Automatic Pistol, #1878D-0102, 9mm, 4.5'' barrel, high-polish chrome-plated finish, gold-plated trigger, checkered walnut grips with Browning medallion, and marked ''Browning Centennial 1878-1978'' to slide. Cased in its original red velvet-lined walnut case with plaque on lid that reads ''1878/Browning Centennial/1978''. 3.) Browning Centennial Model B92 Saddle Ring Carbine, #1878B-0102, .44 Rem. mag. cal., 20'' barrel, blue finish, gold-plated trigger and saddle ring, walnut stock, lightly engraved frame marked in gold ''Browning/1878-1978/Centennial''. No case. 4.) Jonathan Browning Mountain Plains-Type Rifle, #1878A-0102, .50 cal., 30.75'' octagonal barrel, finely figured walnut halfstock with iron furniture and fixed sights. Lockplate features a likeness of Jonathan Browning; right side of stock with oval medallion marked, ''BROWNING CENTENNIAL / 1878-1978''. Includes powder horn inscribed ''Jonathan Browning/1878-1978/0102 of 1000'', with leather strap. Housed in roughwood case with tan velvet-lined interior. Leather plaque on top of case reads ''Browning'' with leather corners. (5) Set of three Browning Stag-Handled Folding Pocket Knives, all numbered #0102 to match the set, in red velvet-lined case with plaque on lid that reads ''1878/Browning Centennial/1978''.: All remain in excellent original condition and appear unfired.
