Rare Early 1907 Pattern British Lee Enfield Bayonet with Scabbard, 17" blade, 22" OAL, blued finish, with smooth walnut grips. Left side of the blade is marked "(Crown)(ER is not legible)/1907/ 10 10/EFD"; right side with "(Broad Arrow)/(three Enfield inspector stamps)/(X) bend mark". There is a faint "15" stamped into the cross guard and "N15" on the left side grip. There is a "(Sold out of Service)" stamp on the left side pommel. Condition is fair to good overall, with spots of dark pitting to both sides of the blade that have been cleaned, now showing fine scratches. There are a few tiny nicks to the unsharpened edge and the point is good. Grips are good with old dents, handling marks, and darkening. Cross guard and pommel fit tightly and are good, showing wear and fine pitting. Release latch operates smoothly. World War II era scabbard is marked "EB" on the locket. Condition is good, showing wear with dents and patina to the chape, moderate wear and scratches to the leather body. Est.: $400-$600.
