Rare Factory Engraved Antique Smith & Wesson No. 1-1/2 First Issue Spurtrigger Revolver, #4070, .32 RF cal., 3.5" octagonal barrel marked with maker's name, address and 1855-59 patent dates on top rib, has spring-release latch at bottom and fixed ejector rod at front; plain 5-shot round cylinder is marked "M-T-O" on rear face; frame has barrel hinge at top-front, integral spurtrigger sheath and flat-bottom gripstraps, 2-pc. varnished rosewood grips. Mfg'd 1865-68. Condition is near fine retaining traces of thinning blue but an overall smooth bluish cast (perhaps with added finish); edges, markings and engraving are sharp. Grips have glossy finish showing highpoint wear, light nicks, a tiny chip at right heel, and "Lyons" crudely scratched at butt. Barrel hinge and latch are tight. Action is crisp, bore is bright with scattered oxidation and sharp rifling. Est.: $600-$900. (Antique)
