Rare Kriegsmarine issue German Model HSC Mauser Semi-Automatic Pistol, #789268, 7.65mm, 3.4" barrel, bright blue finish, walnut grips, blade front sight and fixed notch rear sight. Marked on left side slide with acid etched Mauser logo and "Mauser –Werke A.G. Oberndorf a.N./Mod.HSc/Kal.7,65 mm". Left side frame behind trigger is marked with Marinewaffenamt acceptance stamp "M III/8". Serial number puts this pistol into the "transitional" range produced between Aug.-Nov. 1942. Includes one bright magazine with blued Mauser logo floorplate, and a "hideaway" type box that resembles a book in good condition. Condition overall is very good with the metal retaining approx. 85% finish, showing thinning and patina to the front and rear grip frames. Forward edge of the left grip plate is broken off, otherwise both grips are good with flattening to the checkering, showing dents and handling marks mostly to the right grip plate and an applied oil finish. Action operates smoothly, bright bore is excellent. Est.: $1,500-$2,500. (C&R/PPT)
