American made sporterized military contract bolt-action service rifle chambered for .308 Norma Magnum, and manufactured circa 1942. Rifle features a high polish blued finish, receiver drilled and tapped for optic mounting (two sets of mounting holes), stripper clip guide cut into the receiver, 24" tapered barrel, hooded Redfield ramped blade front sight with a brass insert, no rear sight installed, flag type manual safety on bolt shroud, 5-round internal box magazine with a military style floorplate, serrated magazine cut-off on the left receiver rail, serrated curved trigger, jeweled bolt body, turned-down and swept-back polished bolt handle, knurled cocking piece, and a machined trigger guard. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth semi-pistol gripped Bishop Monte Carlo style shoulder stock, smooth schnabel forend with a sling stud, sling stud on the bottom of the shoulder stock, checkered black plastic double diamond grip cap with a white spacer, right-hand cheek weld, and black ventilated rubber recoil pad with white and black spacers. The original blued finish retained is approximately 97% with light handling blemishes, and the finish is taking on a plum color. Metal displays no deformation, but there are a few very small and light spots of oxidation on the barrel and front sight base. Action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. The furniture wood is in very good condition with dark areas from skin oils, light and small scratches, and a couple of small dings.
Condition is NRA Good.
