'The Speedmaster,' an American made vintage tube-fed semi-automatic sporting rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, manufactured circa 1935-1951 in Ilion, NY. The barrel is marked "22 LONG RIFLE ONLY - SMOKELESS - GREASED". Rifle features a blued finish, an approximately 24" take-down barrel, dovetailed globe front sight with an aperture insert, elevation adjustable rear sporting sight, fully adjustable Redfield target sight mounted at the rear of the receiver, smooth curved case-hardened trigger, serrated breech block, annular cut trigger guard mounted push-button safety, smooth walnut beavertail forend, semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with loading port, and checkered metal butt plate. Barrel stamped number "099" matching the receiver serial number "6099". The original blued finish retained is approximately 86% with general thinning on the barrel and receiver, edge wear, light handling blemishes, and the finish taking on a gray/brown patina. Metal displays no rust, or deformation. The bore is bright with strong rifling, and the action is smooth and crisp. Furniture wood is in fair condition with handling marks, a crack on the forend, and the shoulder stock fits loose.
