American made pump-action shotgun chambered for 3" 12 Gauge shells, manufactured by Remington between 1978-1983 (not original barrel) in Ilion, NY. This Model 870 was converted into a slug gun with a rifled bore. Shotgun features a blued finish, receiver drilled and tapped for optic mounting, two optic blocks attached to the receiver, an approximately 24" Hastings round polygonal rifled barrel (made in France), raised blade front sight with a brass bead, fully adjustable 'U' notched rear sight, smooth curved trigger with beveled edges, annular cut push-button safety mounted on trigger guard, aluminum trigger guard, and dual action bars. The high gloss hardwood furniture consists of a semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with press checkering at the wrist, press checkered pump handle, black plastic grip cap with an embossed duck and a white spacer, sling stud on the magazine tube cap, sling stud on the bottom of the shoulder stock, 14" length-of-pull to the front trigger, and brown factory ventilated rubber recoil pad with white and black spacers. The original blued finish remaining is approximately 98% with superficial blemishes, and contact wear on the magazine tube. The trigger guard has edge wear, and wear from loading cartridges that were touched up with a marker. Metal displays two tiny spots of rust on the magazine tube, but no deformation. Action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. Furniture wood is in very good condition with minor handling marks, and imperfections that look like bubbles at the edge of the butt stock. The magazine tube lug, on the barrel, looks like it was either a casting, or it was a old previously pitted lug from another barrel.
Condition is NRA Good.
