American made vintage tube-fed semi-automatic sporting rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle, and manufactured circa 1928 ('CW' date code) in Ilion, NY. The Remington Model 24 was based on Browning designs, and it was produced circa 1922-1935. Rifle features a blued finish, 19" take-down barrel, dovetailed blade front sight with a silver-toned bead, elevation adjustable sporting rear sight (missing elevator screw), smooth curved color-case trigger, serrated bolt charging piece (bottom of the receiver), checkered push-button safety at the front of the trigger guard, and a magazine tube inside the shoulder stock. The walnut furniture consists of a smooth semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth Schnabel forend, loading port on the right side of the shoulder stock, and a smooth steel butt plate with a magazine tube hole. The original blued finish retained is approximately 75% with edge wear, handling blemishes, and the finish taking on a dark mottled gray patina. Metal displays no deformation, but sparse oxidative speckling and light pin-prick pitting was observed on the metal components. The furniture wood is in poor condition with minor handling marks, and cracks at the rear of the receiver. We were not able to take down this rifle.
Condition is NRA Poor.
