The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel. grip/stock configuration & condition: the refinished furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip,10-rib forend, and a smooth metal buttplate. The buttplate has light edge wear and finish discoloration. The furniture shows moderate wear with pressure dings, scuffs, and scratches. The current finish shows crazing. The lop measures 13" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are two faint cracks on the left side of the wrist running from the receiver. The furniture rates in very good condition. type of finish: bluedfinish originality: original except for a small section near where the barrel meets the receiver. That spot has been scrubbed and partially finished over. bore condition: the bore is mostly bright with stubborn streaking. There is faint erosion scattered in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8/10. overall condition: this rifle retains about 70% of it's mostly original finish. The finish shows edge wear, light patina, surface scratches, and a spot of pitting that has been scrubbed over. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in very good condition. mechanics: the action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm.
