Economic push feed bolt action sporting rifle chambered in .222 Remington, manufactured circa 1969. The model 788 debuted in 1967 and was marketed as an inexpensive yet accurate hunting rifle. Now discontinued, these have developed a loyal following. Features a blued finish, 24" tapered barrel (drilled & tapped for sights), smooth trigger with beveled edges, stamped steel trigger guard, manual two-position safety on the right side of the receiver, blued bolt with rear locking lugs, 3 round detachable magazine, black Ramline polymer sporter stock with molded checkering panels, solid rubber recoil pad, sling studs. Two piece Weaver bases with rings mount a Simmons 6-18x40mm scope with adjustable objective lens. Bolt easily detaches from the bolt body. Magazine missing follower. Bore is very good. Retains 85% finish with scuffs, edge losses. Stock is very good. Scope is very good, clear view. Includes black nylon sling. Condition is NRA Poor - Needs Repair *** C&R Firearm ***
