American made single-shot rolling block rifle chambered for .32 Rimfire, and manufactured by Remington Arms Co Ilion, NY. Remington No, 2 Rolling Blocks were produced from 1873 to 1910, and there is no specific date to determine antiquity. Rifle features color-case hardened receiver and trigger guard, an approximately 26" blued octagonal barrel, dovetailed blade front sight, elevation adjustable sporting rear sight, smooth curved trigger, checkered breech block spur, and a checkered hammer spur. The refinished walnut furniture consists of a smooth straight gripped "perch-belly" shoulder stock, smooth Schnabel forend with a black contoured metal cap, and a curved steel butt plate. The original blued finish retained is approximately 86% with edge wear, handling blemishes, and the finish taking on a mottled brown patina. The color-case finish retained is approximately 30% with a couple faint scratches, and slight color brilliance remaining. Metal displays few very small spots of rust, and no deformation was observed. The bore is dark and dirty where rifling cannot be determined. Metal markings are sharp and legible. Furniture wood is in very good condition, as refinished, with no cracks. There is finish residue on the forend cap. Action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is frosty with visible rifling.
Condition is NRA Good.
