American made vintage semi-automatic centerfire rifle chambered for .30-30 Remington, and manufactured by Remington Arms Co. out of Ilion, NY. Remington arms introduced the 'Remington Autoloading Rifle' in 1905, and the name later changed to the 'Model 8' in 1911. These rifles were produced until 1936. Rifle features a blued finish, an approximately 22" recoiling barrel, dovetailed blade front sight, rotating bolt head, last-round bolt hold open, elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight (missing elevator), smooth curved trigger, fixed 5-round magazine, checkered bolt release, take-down lever under the forend, checkered lever style safety on the right side of the receiver, and smooth charging handle. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth straight gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, an a factory checkered black plastic butt plate. The original blued finish retained is approximately 40% with general thinning, handling blemishes, and the finish is taking on a mottled gray to plum patina. Metal displays some pin-prick pitting, deformation in some of the screw slots, and rust inside of the magazine. Wood is in fair condition with a crack in the forend, and normal handling marks. Action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling.
Condition is NRA Good.
