SN: 1402689 Pistol. Semi-Automatic. U.S. Military pistol manufactured the third year of WW2 in 1943. Magazine fed, short recoil. 5" Barrel. Slide mounted front blade and U-notch rear sights. Parkerized "Wartime" metal finish. Grip safety. Lanyard ring. Right frame stamped , to the rear of the slide stop pin is "United States Property" with the serial number below it. "M1911A1 U.S. Army" is stamped to the front of pin. Left side of frame is stamped in 2 lines "Remington Rand Inc. Syracuse,New York." "P" is stamped in front of the rear sight, and below the magazine release button. Barrel stamped "HS", and "P". No serial number on slide. Right triggerguard is stamped "T", and "P". Left triggerguard is stamped "3". "FJA" inspectors stamp is present below the slide catch. (Col. Frank J. Atwood) "G" is stamped under the firing pin stop on the slide. Brown checkered plastic are reinforced , and appear original to the pistol. Bore is excellent/bright, a little dirty. Slide action is smooth/tight. Metal finish is about 90% with edge/handling wear, and some minor scratches. Slide stop is blued. Comes with original unmarked magazine. Also included is Sears 1942 dated "US" flap holster.
